I’ve lived here for 35 years … you’d think I’d be used to it by now. But I’m not. When it comes to winter, I’d be happy if it snowed on Christmas Eve and melted on the 26th. Hell … at least ease us into it. It started snowing on Saturday, but it was just flurries. Give us a few weeks of that before dumping feet on us.

I had made plans to leave work today at 3pm, come home and finish packing, load up my car, fill up with gas, and head down to Mom & Dad’s for Christmas. I was hoping we’d make a trip to Wahpeton on Christmas Day or Saturday to see my Grandma. Okay … who am I kidding. I live in North Dakota … there are no woods. Maybe some shelter belts or groves of trees, but no woods. I will be traveling over rivers … or one several times. We’ve had some pretty strong storms roll through the area over the past couple of days. Yesterday morning a pretty good one rolled through. It stayed south of Fargo, but did head toward Wahpeton. Apparently it was enough of a storm to make the tree in the backyard of my Grandma’s old house fall on the house.
