Since the race was postponed today due to rain in Michigan (
), I decided to make a run to Target. They have some 66 gallon plastic totes on sales this week for $4.88, and I’ve needed some more for quite some time … they’re just too spendy for me (and I didn’t really need ‘em THAT bad). I needed some other stuff too (Cascade, Bounce), and Robin has said that those kinds of things are cheaper at Target than Walmart. So I thought … what the hell. I wanna get some totes before they’re sold out.
PLEASE remind me to NEVER EVER EVER go to Target on a Sunday. I figured it wouldn’t be pretty, but still … The parking lot was the first issue. But I managed to get a decent parking spot (which was good since we’ve got a cloudy spitty rain day again today … not as bad as yesterday, but still not nice for outdoors). I went straight to the totes since that was the main reason I was there. I got the totes, but couldn’t find any lids. Thank goodness there were a couple of workers nearby. I asked them, and one of them went back to get some lids (I had to wait a while, but not too long). So I’ve got 2 totes. I need to do stuff with them today to decide if I need more or not. I got the rest of my stuff and luckily found a register with a short line. That went quick. But then leaving … I swear … people do NOT know how to drive. There are arrows on the pavement to tell you the direction you should travel down a row. When I was leaving … there were 2 cars coming AT me. I was going the correct way, so obviously they were not. And then the way I decided to go to get out of the lot that I THOUGHT was the quick way wasn’t. Grrrr ….
But, I’m home now. Time to go play with my new toys … LOL. 2 66 gallon totes and 2 cereal containers (since I’ve been eating cereal in the mornings … I wanted a sealable container since the boxes don’t really seal up that well). The rest of the stuff I can’t really play with though. Oh well.

This is just crazy. It’s gorgeous outside again today. It’s 65° out right now. But it got up to 83° in my apartment earlier today. It was awful in here. Yeah … I did have the oven on to make a pizza for dinner and then roast some chicken for soup. And I was boiling the soup bones. But did it really have to get that hot in here. I’ve got my heat completely off. It was turned way down low anyways, but I turned it off for good measure. I didn’t have the windows open for most of the day because it was really humid out. And then the sun came around and in the windows (I face west). OMG. AWFUL!!! So I broke down and turned my AC on. It’s down to 76.5° in here right now. Still warmer than I’d like. I’ll probably leave the AC on ’til it gets down to 73° or 72°. I just hope my bedroom cools off too. I really don’t wanna have problems getting to sleep (and staying asleep) tonite. I have enough problems as it is getting to sleep.
You know … I really don’t remember it getting this warm in here last spring.

I’m definitely not a big fan of Microsoft, but I do admit that I use some of their products … mainly Windows XP and Office. I also use Microsoft Money. I have Money 2003. I’ve been thinking of trying something different. I checked out Quicken this weekend. I wanted to download a trial, but you have to pay to download it and then you can cancel/return/whatever within 30 or 60 days. I don’t wanna do that because I don’t know if I want it or not. I just want to check it out.
I was able to download a trial version of Money Essentials. So I installed it this weekend but didn’t get a chance to try it out ’til tonite. Well … I HATE it. So I uninstalled it. Well, that fucked up my install of Money 2003. I guess that when it uninstalled Money Essentials, it uninstalled some libraries I needed or something. Excuse me!! I had a WORKING COPY of Money 2003 before that fucking trial version. So I had to re-install that damn trial version in order to get my version of Money 2003 to work again. Now, my luck it will quick working when the trial runs out. The MS website said you could install it in a different directory than your other install. What they didn’t bother to say is that if you uninstall the trial, it fucks up your other version. I should email them and complain.
Better yet … I think I’ll go out and buy Quicken and tell Microsoft to

Dammit. I just realized that Monday is President’s Day. That means that the post office is closed. Shit. I was planning on mailing that letter on Monday. Now I’m going to have to go to the JSND office on my lunch to see if I can fax it in instead so they get it within their damn 7 day time frame. That’s not going to leave me much, if any, time to eat lunch since the office is basically near my apartment. And their hours are 8am to 5pm, so I HAVE to go on lunch. Damn government!!

I went to Best Buy after work to see if they had my mp3 player in store. I also wanted to get my hands on it to play around with it somewhat. They have the black and green one in the store. It wasn’t on display, but teh 4GB one was. It was on display but it wasn’t turned on. So I asked a sales person who was nearby. He acted like he didn’t want to help me. Well … he DIDN’T really help me. I asked if it could be turned on so I could see the display. He said no. Then why the hell have it on display?
There were others that looked like they were on. I didn’t do anything with them because I didn’t want them. I learned more about the thing online then by going to the store.
At least I did see the size of it (tiny!). And I got to check out the controls. They weren’t stellar, but they were okay. I didn’t see anything that makes me not want that one, so I’m still planning on getting it. Hopefully I’ll get my tax refund before the end of the week. I just gotta see where I can get the best deal.

I got an email from Verizon earlier tonite telling me that my latest statement is available online. It also said that my current balance is $61.21.
Normally my bill is around $55 since I upgraded my phone and got a text/picture message package. Why the hell is it $61?
So, I went to view my statement online. In the usage charges, it has 74 text messages listed under “Unbilled Usage from Previous Months”. ’scuz me? WTF? I never came close to going over my limit on messages. I had 100 messages before. After I got my new phone, I upgraded to the 250 message plan. That was before December 1st.
My December bill had no text messages on it. I thought that was a little strange since I know I sent messages during that time period. I downloaded the details of text message usage they have on the site. It has 74 messages listed that were sent or received between Nov. 28th and Dec. 21st. Those should have been on my January bill. According to that statement, I had 233 messages available. I’m guessing it’s because of when I switched over to the 250 message package. I was billed for 8 text messages and 3 premium text messages. 233 - 8 - 3 = 222 If there were 74 messages that I wasn’t billed for (NOT my fault), I still had messages to use, and they should have come out of that. Why the hell am I being charged for them.
Needless to say … I will be calling Verizon tomorrow and bitching them out. I WILL NOT pay for those messages. They should have been taken out of my allowance. I WILL NOT let them screw me over. Wells Fargo tried to screw me over, and I didn’t stand for that. Verizon isn’t going to get away with it.
